About

Newspaper reporter, magazine editor, and now freelance journalist, my experience means quality copy.

After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder, I started at The Denver Business Journal. As a reporter there, I first covered the tech beat and ultimately followed Denver retail and restaurants for the weekly business newspaper.

The next stop was upstart Denver city magazine 5280, where I continued scouting out the city's best food and shopping. More importantly, 5280 was where I started writing profiles. Feature writing, in particular personality profiles, became my signature at the Denver mag. I also developed and edited 5280's front-of-the-book section, a task that helped me appreciate the importance of good freelancers to any magazine's success.

Today I combine my business background with my profile skills to produce clear, compelling copy for publications including The Denver Post, lore magazine, and Aspen Peak. I also work with the University of Denver Daniels College of Business and the Colorado Health Foundation on various marketing and copywriting projects. My favorite subject matter includes profiles, food and lifestyle, health and wellness, and of course the best of the
Mile-High City.
